STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THERMOSENSITIVE CHITOSAN GLUTAMINATE HYDROGELS
Journal Title: Progress on Chemistry and Application of Chitin and its Derivatives - Year 2013, Vol 0, Issue
Abstract
Hydrogels that possess the ability of gelling in response to changes in the local environment, such as pH or temperature, have been examined extensively recently. In this paper the properties of thermosensitive chitosan hydrogels prepared with the use of chitosan glutaminate and β-glycerophosphate are presented. The sol/gel transition point was determined based on the rheological properties. The structure of gels was observed under the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and was investigated by thermogravimetric (TG) and differential themogravimetric (DTG) analysis and infrared (IR) spectroscopy. The crystallinity of gel structure was determined by X-ray Diffraction analysis (XRD).

CHARACTERISATION OF CHITOSAN/HYALURONIC ACID BLEND FILMS MODIFIED BY COLLAGEN
In the present study, thin films based on the blends of chitosan (Ch) and hyaluronic acid (HA) with and without collagen (Coll) were characterised using tensile tests, attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infra...
Physicochemical properties of chitin-protein complex from shell of RED KING crab (Paralithodes camtchaticus) at various stages of molting cycle
It is worth of note that the studies have shown the substantial differences in the physicochemical characteristics of the chitin-protein complex isolated from the crab shell at various stages of the molting cycle. Perhap...
IN VITRO STUDIES OF ADSORPTION OF ERYTHROMYCIN ON CHITOSANS FROM DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS
In clinical practice, in the treatment of obesity, a plurality of natural high-molecular compounds are used, the activity of which supports weight loss. During the use of dietary supplements containing chitosan, illness...
Use of Chitosan Film Coatings in the Storage of Carrots (Daucus carota)
Chitosan film applied to coat carrot slices affected metabolic changes that increased the content of total phenolic acids and flavonoids. Chitosan coating of carrot slices delayed the overripening process and, consequent...
THE USE OF ACTIVE CARBON IMMOBILISED ON CHITOSAN BEADS FOR RB5 AND BV10 DYE REMOVAL FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS
This paper presents the adsorption of dyes – the anionic Reactive Black 5 (RB5) and cationic Basic Violet 10 (BV10) dyes – on activated carbon (AC) immobilised on chitosan (CHs). The results were compared with the remova...
