STUDIES OF THE HISTORIAN-ORIENTALIST A.E. KRYMSKY ON THE HISTORY OF KABALA

Abstract
The history of ancient Albania is one of the complex and extensive problems. In the I-VII centuries. Albania occupied a vast territory in the north from the main Caucasian ridge to the Araz River in the south, from Iberia in the west to the Caspian Sea in the east. An excursus is made to the ancient historiography of Azerbaijan Albania – the works of Strabo and Pliny are celebrated. An important place is the question of the location of ancient Kabala in the studies of other leading authors on the problem, which is consistently disclosed by the author of the article. The research of A.E.Krymsky himself on the history of Albania, as well as the economic and political life of ancient Kabala ‒ the capital of Albania, about the campaigns of the Khazars, Huns, Arabs and other invaders to Albania are covered here.
