STUDIES REGARDING THE TECHNOLOGICAL EFFECT OF A NEW DRYING METHOD ON THE QUALITY OF WHEAT SEEDS
Journal Title: ISB-INMA TEH AGRICULTURAL AND MECHANICAL ENGINEERING - Year 2017, Vol 0, Issue 1
Abstract
Agricultural plant seeds are subjected to the drying process to extend the conservation and to maintain the quality and the nutritive value during the storage. Currently, convective dryers are used worldwide, which do not solve the problem of the distribution's uniformity of air temperature and velocity. The seeds behave differently depending on the physicochemical characteristics and some of them do not support aggressive drying conditions. To preserve the quality of seeds, a cylinder drying unit was designed and built, provided at its inner part with deflectors to equalize the velocity and temperature gradients throughout the surface of the product.
