Study of Effect of Haemoglobin and Body Weight on Vo2 Max in Young Males and Females
Journal Title: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF RECENT TRENDS IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY - Year 2014, Vol 9, Issue 2
Abstract
Samples of 27 females and 22 males of age group 18-25 years were studied for evaluating relationship between obesity and Hemoglobin with cardiorespiratory fitness. Cardiorespiratory fitness was measured in terms of vo2 max while obesity in terms of BMI. Significant negative Correlation was observed in males(r=-62964) and females (r=-0.51466) between BMI and VO2 MAX. At the same time significant positive correlation was found in males (r=0.875296) and females(r=0.740909) between Hemoglobin and vo2 max. Thus, with increase in BMI, vo2 max decreases and with increase in Hb, vo2 max increases.
