Study of the Behavior of a Multi Floors Building in the Case of an Earthquake Using a Piece-wise Model

Journal Title: Romanian Journal of Acoustics and Vibration - Year 2014, Vol 11, Issue 2

Abstract

This paper realizes a study for the dynamics of a multi floors building excited by a vertical earthquake type excitation. Each floor is considered connected to its neighbors by piece-wise springs and dampers. The numerical study performs an analysis of the dependence on the stiffness, damper and number of floors.
