STUDY OF TWACHA SHARIR WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO VYANGA

Abstract

Facial skin is the most important and beautiful organ of the body can be affected by certain anomalies at any age. Early physical and psychological precautionary measures are essential in either of the sexes. As any minor aliment may affect from unattractive look to a permanent disfigurement, which may result in inferiority complex. The disease Vyanga is one such disease counted under Kshudra Roga (minor diseases). Vyanga disease occurs in lohita layer of skin. This disease causes changes on facial skin, we observe anatomically structural changes occur in skin on face. Melanin plays most important role in developing vyanga. Because of external etiological factors like UV rays, chemical contacts responsible for developing black discoloration of skin producing vyanga. Study has aim to find out structural changes in skin of vyanga disease. Objectives are to find out vyanga disease with its modern aspect & to study bhrajak pitta & minor diseases on facial skin. 30 patients are selected with classical signs of vyanga disease. Subjective criteria & objective criteria were made according to sign & symptoms of vyanga disease. Fair & lovely color scale & woods lamp was used to find out the color changes & structural changes in skin. Thick skin, thin skin, wrinkled skin, infected skin, oily skin, sun damaged skin are studied by woods lamp examination. Observations & results are made accordance. Structural changes in skin of face in vyanga are arranged in their descending order. Study concluded that wrinkled skin & sun damaged skin has maximum chances of developing vyanga.
