Study on deviated nasal septum among adults

Journal Title: World Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences - Year 2016, Vol 4, Issue 9

Abstract

Deviated nasal septum (DNS) is a frequently occurring condition that can cause nasal obstruction in an individual. It may result in permanent changes in the nasal and sinus mucosa because of altered ventilation of the nasal cavity. The present study makes an attempt to find the prevalence of DNS. Results: Out of total of 250 cases, 132 were females and 118 were male. Out of them 49 were found to have DNS, 23 cases had DNS to left, 25 had DNS to right and 1 had bilateral deviation of the septum and 23 were females and 26 were males.
