Study source of legal protection of cultural heritage in Ukraine

Abstract
The legal protection of cultural heritage in Ukraine, though not as ancient as in France, for example, has its own centuries old history. During this time, a rather large source base was formed, which was substantially enriched during the years of state independence of Ukraine. However, there is a certain gravity not only of cultural heritage policies, but also of relevant legal sources. As a consequence, the whole array of legal sources on cultural heritage protection requires not only a thorough study, systematization and generalization, but also, ultimately, a critical rethinking. The aim of the article is to carry out the classification of the source base of legal protection of cultural heritage in Ukraine and a concise analysis of certain types of sources. The scientific novelty is to identify and analyze the main sources of legal protection of cultural heritage in Ukraine, especially international legal instruments and national legislation. Both the sources of cultural heritage protection and the source of the study are considered. The source database for legal protection of cultural heritage in Ukraine is classified. The study identifies four main types of sources. Conclusions. The classification of the source base of legal protection of cultural heritage in Ukraine is based on the widespread classifications of sources of law and the selection of the main types of written sources used in source studies. The following types of sources are identified in our study: 1) national regulatory acts; 2) international legal acts; 3) reference literature, including encyclopedias and dictionaries, guides and directories, catalogs and bibliographic indexes, etc.; 4) analytical notes, appeals, statements, information messages, correspondence of bodies authorized to develop and implement policies in the field of cultural heritage protection, as well as monumental non-governmental organizations, societies, etc.
