Studying the Effect of Descriptive Evaluation in Anxiety Reduction of 6th Grade Primary School Students

Abstract

Qualitative-descriptive evaluation is one the education office programs which is performed to improve evaluation system in education. This study aims to examine effect of descriptive evaluation in decreasing anxiety of sixth grade primary students in schools using descriptive and traditional evaluation scheme. Multi stages cluster sampling was used in this study and regarding target society, 165 students were in descriptive evaluation and 165 students were in traditional evaluation scheme, who were selected as samples. Required data was gathered from students, using anxiety survey composed by Hamilton, which its reliability was calculated 73% using Alpha Cronbakh. Gathered data was analyzed using SPSS software. Descriptive and interpretive statistics of independent T group was used to analyze data. Results showed that students in schools executing qualitative- descriptive evaluation suffered less anxiety comparing students in traditional schools.
