SUBJECT FIELD OF GEOGRAPHY AND ITS MODERN METHODOLOGICAL TRANSFORMATION

Abstract
The meaning of the terms “geographical shell” and “Landscape shell” of the Earth in the context of composition and structure evolution of the Earth’s shell has been discussed. Subject areas of physical and social geography as sciences, which have general and holistic research object - landscape shell of the Earth as a whole, have been defined the new way. The problem of integrated approaches to the landscape shell study formation, based on the new methodological interpretation of the natural (physical) and social (socio-economic) geography objects has been raised. Trends in modern methodological transformation of Ukrainian geography have been reviewed.
