Journal Title: Materials Engineering - Materialove inzinierstvo (MEMI) - Year 2013, Vol 20, Issue 1
Abstract
The article compares the properties of plasma and HVOF thermally sprayed coatings obtained by blending the NiCrBSi and Fe2O3 powders. The deposition was performed by means of the Plancer PN-120 and the Diamond Jet guns for plasma spraying and HVOF spraying respectively. The SEM (EDS) method was employed to study the microstructure of the produced coatings. Although the blended powders differ in particle size, shape, and distribution, it is possible to obtain composite coatings with an NiCrBSi matrix containing iron oxides. Except for a different microstructure, plasma and HVOF coatings have a different phase composition, which was examined using the Bruker D-8 Advance diffractometer. Studies of the coatings wear and scuffing resistance showed that an optimal content of Fe2O3 is about 26 % for plasma sprayed coatings and 22.5 % for HVOF deposited coatings.

EFFECT OF THE HEAT AND SURFACE LASER TREATMENT ON THE CORROSION DEGRADATION OF THE Mg-Al ALLOYS
In this paper there is presented the corrosion behaviour of the cast magnesium alloys as cast state, after heat and laser treatment. Pitting corrosion resistance of the analyzed alloys was carried out using the potentiod...
FATIGUE BEHAVIOR OF HOT-ROLLED STEEL INTENDED FOR COLD FORMING
In the work, there are presented measured tension and fatigue properties of eight low-carbon steels moulded in form of 20 kg ingots that were processed by controlled regime of rolling /cooling and then exposed to simulat...
EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF EROSIVE WEAR ON THE HIGH CHROME CAST IRON IMPELLER OF SLURRY DISPOSAL PUMP USING RESPONSE SURFACE METHODOLOGY
Erosive wear occurs on the impeller and volute casing of the slurry disposal pump due to the impact of the ash particles on the impeller with a high velocity. Due to erosive wear, pump life become very short. The service...
FRACTURE BEHAVIOUR OF P/M Cr-V LEDEBURITIC STEEL WITH DIFFERENT SURFACE ROUGHNESS
The samples made from the Vanadis 6 PM ledeburitic tool steel were surface machined to different quality and heat treated by standard regime of the processing. Three point bending tests were carried out on processed samp...
The pseudoelasticity and the shape memory effect in CoNiAl alloys
The cobalt alloys (close to the CoNiAl stoichiometry) are the less known shape memory alloys. Such behavior is consequence of the martensitic transformation. The pseudoelasticity is caused by the stress-induced martensit...
