Abstract
Annotation Introduction and purpose of the study. The article is devoted to the study of the features of physical education of students with disabilities in higher education institutions. Scientific research conducted in the direction of adaptive physical education, mainly devoted to the historical, organizational and pedagogical aspects of the formation and development of adaptive physical education as an academic discipline and social practice; basic position of adaptive physical education; individual issues of adaptive sports. However, problems of adaptive physical education of students with disabilities remain insufficiently developed. The hypothesis of the study is that the study of the peculiarities of the process of physical education of persons with disabilities in higher education institutions will allow to identify existing problems and identify ways to solve them to improve the psychophysical condition and adaptation of these students to training in higher education. The purpose of the study is to study the current state of physical education of students with disabilities in Ukraine in order to identify existing problems in adapting to training and improving the psychophysical state of such students. Materials and methods. In the scientific research the scientific-methodical literature on the studied issues was analyzed, as well as the medical cards of the students were studied and pedagogical observation of the process of physical education of students with disabilities in the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University was conducted. Results. The analysis of literary sources has found that adaptive physical education of students with disabilities is an actual problem, which involves the introduction into practice of various pedagogical technologies. The results of the analysis of documentary materials revealed that in the 2017-2018 academic year, at the Dnipro National University named after O. Gonchar, 152 students with disabilities studied, which was 1.8% of the total number of applicants for higher education. Among the nosological groups of disability, the most common are chronic diseases of the internal organs (31%), visual disturbance (19%), and anomalies of the development of extremities (14%). Pedagogical observation has shown that the adaptive physical education of students with disabilities in the the Oles Honchar Dnipro National University is carried out in groups of physical rehabilitation and consists of assimilation of the theoretical section and medical physical culture depending on the diagnosis. Students with disabilities either attend practical classes in physical rehabilitation groups or are exempt from practical physical education classes. Control over the dynamics of physical fitness indicators is based on the registration of their meanings at the beginning and end of the semester and the academic year. Conclusions. Physical culture and health work with students with disabilities is not effective due to the identified problems of adaptive physical education of students: lack of access to physical activity, inadequate readiness of teachers of physical education departments for work with students with disabilities, lack of methodical materials on the organization of physical education classes, integrated training, unsatisfactory equipment with special sport inventory and equipment, etc. Key words: adaptive physical education, students, disability, adaptation to education, higher education.
