SURFACE GEOMETRIC STRUCTURE CREATED BY THE ELECTRICAL DISCHARGE MACHINING PROCESS
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2010, Vol 233, Issue 5
Abstract
Electrical discharge machining, which belongs to the non-conventional group of machining methods is widely used for manufacturing elements made of hard materials and those having a complicated geometry. The paper gives an overview of electrical discharge machining. The author has conducted research (quantitative and qualitative) into the results of the surface geometric structure created by the electrical discharge machining process. For analysis purposes, an optical microscope, a scanning electron microscope, and a profilometer were used. It has been found that machining parameters have a significant influence on the shape and technological quality of a surface.

ANALYSIS OF THE INFLUENCE OF BASIC CONSTRUCTIONAL PARAMETERS ON POWER LOSSES IN THE MESHING OF A TOOTHED CYLINDRICAL GEAR
Efficiency of gear depends, in significant measure, on power losses that occur in meshing, bearing and sealing. An amount of these losses depends on friction conditions in the named nodes of gear design, and it is define...
WPŁYW STARZENIA KLIMATYCZNEGO NA KINETYKĘ ZUŻYWANIA EROZYJNEGO NANOPOWŁOK POLIMEROWYCH
W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań odporności erozyjnej trójwarstwowych epoksydowo-poliuretanowych systemów powłokowych różniących się składem poliuretanowej warstwy nawierzchniowej. Do modyfikacji warstwy nawierzchni...
SCUFFING PROPAGATION OF HEAVILY-LOADED LUBRICATED FRICTION JOINTS WITH WC/C COATED PARTS
The aim of this paper was to describe the mechanisms of the estruction of heavily loaded friction pair elements coated with low – friction WC/C coating. The investigations were performed for low friction coatings WC/C (a...
THE INFLUENCE OF MECHANICAL FORCE ON CREATING PHYSICOCHEMICAL PROPERTIES GREASES
The paper presents the results of investigation of the mechanical force on the mechanical and thermal stability greases. Research grease composition received was dispersed on the synthetic and mineral oils with inorgani...
EVALUATING THE INFLUENCE OF BENDING STRESS ON A 1H18N9 STEEL SHAFT WEAR PROCESS IN A WATER LUBRICATED SLIDING BEARING WITH A RUBBER BUSHING
The issue of excessive wear of shaft journals co-working with a rubber bearing has been unexplained so far. Premature and sometimes very intensive wear of ship sliding bearings in water conditions is the reason for carry...
