Surgical treatment of rynophyma – own observation

Abstract
Rhinophyma is the end-stage of rosacea. Nodular hypertrophy of the external nose is a chronic disease lasting for many years. The main problem in patients with rhinophyma apart from functional disorders are deformities of the nose regarding aesthetics. Therefore patients often isolate themselves and avoid interpersonal and social contacts. Majority of patients with symptoms of nodular hypertrophy are not aware of possibility of treatment which impoves functional disorders and aesthetic of the face. Surgical treatment still remains the basic method of treatment of rhinophyma. The long –term observations have proved satisfactory cosmetics and functional results.<br/><br/>
