Journal Title: Indian Journal of Scientific Research - Year 2017, Vol 8, Issue 1
Abstract
Systematic survey of anuran fauna was undertaken in the five selected sampling sites along the Bhima river basin in Solapur district, Maharashtra, from June-September 2014 to June-September 2016 (three breeding seasons). Bhima river basin in Solapur district falls under semi-arid i.e. drought prone area. The annual average rain fall is 500 mm and maximum temperature is 46ÂșC. During the study total thirteen (13) species of anurans were recorded from this basin belonging to four (4) families and eight (8) genera of known 384 species of amphibians found in India.
