Survey of electrocoagulation process Performance (with iron-rod electrode) in treatment of drinking water- case study: Kermanshah Soleymanshah dam
Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2015, Vol 9, Issue 8
Abstract
In this study has been investigated electrocoagulation process with Fe electrode in batch mode for treatment of surface water. The design of experiment runs were carried out using a central composite design (CCD). After each run the effects of significant variables on the removal efficiency of study parameters were analyzed with RSM model and measured the value of metal dissolving in effect of anode electrode dissolution with inductively coupled plasma. The results showed that electrocoagulation process is an effective method in the removal of study parameters from surface waters but the concentration of metal dissolving in effect of anode electrode dissolution has health importance, therefore, the optimal experiments condition was selected as regard to standard concentration of metal dissolving. At the optimum conditions, removal efficiency of study parameters were obtained manganese 65%, heterotrophic bacteria 60.7%, total coliform 80% and reduced total hardness 24 mg/L, alkalinity 17mg/L.
