Abstract
Maskevich O. Sacred and Profane in the Family and Domestic Sphere of Ukrainian Believers. The article disclosed the problem of the relationship between the sacred and the profane in the family and domestic sphere in the modern Ukrainian society. The author analyzes the change of emphasis between these categories in the modern Ukrainian family. The article reveals the meaning of the categories of the sacred and the profane in terms of philosophical, sociology and religious positions. The author analyzes the origins of the formation of ideas about the sacred and the profane in the family and the domestic sphere of the Ukrainian people since pagan times to the present day. The state of modern Ukrainian society is characterized like the gradual abandonment of what belongs to the world of higher values and sacred world. The consequence of these processes is the predominance of the material over the spiritual and human supremacy over the interests of society. The current situation requires an appeal to the phenomena of the sacred and the profane in the family, because it is place, where the combination of the sacred and profane, which affects the formation of the moral values of society
