Abstract

An important feature of the erudite, fully developed scholar is the high language culture, that is, the ability to use the modern literary language with the full range of expressive means and the norms inherent in the literary language. Culture of speech as the main means of communication and an integral part of the general culture of the individual is one of the most important indicators of education and civilization of society, provides for the correct, optimal use of speech means and includes the language achievements of society throughout all stages of its development. Good knowledge of the language, possession of its literary standard is the key to the effectiveness of any professional communication, including scientific. The purpose of the article is to reveal the essence of the concept of «culture of scientific speech», to determine the peculiarities of the implementation of the norms of contemporary Ukrainian literary language in the scientific style, to emphasize the most typical mistakes of the logical and linguistic nature that occur in scientific texts, and to outline ways and ways of overcoming them. Frequent publications in various professional editions, dictionaries, directories are proof that even in the time of the newest linguistic searches in the field of discourse, cognitivism, political linguistics, etc., the culture of speech remains «imperishable classics». After all, in the words of V. Sukhomlynsky, there is «the lively root of the culture of mental, all mental education». The culture of language is an indicator of its uniqueness, which is determined by generally accepted norms – orphoepic, lexical, word-formation, grammatical, spelling and stylistic. About the culture of speech say, if the normative-regulatory aspect, related to the establishment of rules for the use of linguistic means, is oriented on native speakers. Speech culture, based on the achievements of linguistic culture, contains, firstly, unconditional observance (literally and in writing) of the norms of literary language, and secondly, the speech skills of the speaker or writer. The main communicative task of communication in the scientific sphere is the expression of scientific concepts and inferences. Thinking in this area has a generalized, abstract, logical character. This is conditioned by such specific features of scientific style as abstraction, conciseness, generalization, dialogicity, underlined logic, objectivity of presentation, clarity, semantic accuracy, uniqueness, informative saturation.
