Synthesis of antimicrobial active benzimidazole-2-thioate derivatives of 2-mercaptobenzimidazole

Journal Title: World Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences - Year 2016, Vol 4, Issue 11

Abstract

Synthesis of antimicrobial active benzimidazole-2-thioate derivatives of 2-mercaptobenzimidazoleA facile, green, efficient and one pot synthetic method for biological active benzimidazole-2-thioate derivatives comprising the reaction of corresponding 2-Mercaptobenzimidazole with various substituted aromatic carboxylic acids using oxalyl chloride has been described.
