Abstract
On the ground of experiences from armed conflicts, the United States’ military analysts drew conclusions from which it appears that the 21ˢͭ century present and future challenges demand from the US Ground Forces’ maintenance support system to provide capabilities to ensure meeting a full spectrum of operational tasks. Land Component (LC) should be able to carry out such tasks completion irrespective of geographical location of the area of the operations theatre and intensity of planned operations. The article shows maintenance support activities in the US Ground Forces transformation period and the description of initiated solutions in the organization of this system. Among other things, the author analyses the system of armament and military equipment (major end items) supply and spare parts (repair parts class IX items) supply. Moreover, he presents necessary procedures of major end items supply order and repair parts supply order and report system about losses in the Land Component. Procedures and the organization of logistic Information management for the needs of the Land Component maintenance support are introduced in the final part of the paper
