Abstract
The article presents the main achievements of the branch in Częstochowa. It is a reminiscence of a group of outstanding Polonists from Częstochowa, which included such personalities as Józef Mikołajtis, who founded the branch in December 1956. The titles of various parts of the article emphasize important individuals and momentous events in the history of the branch. The article also emphasizes community involvement of Polish teachers affiliated to the branch regarding the development of culture and science in Częstochowa. It also recalls the branch’s successes, which was led in subsequent years by Józef Wójcicki (1987–1989), Barbara Kubicka-Czekaj (1990–2000), Krzysztof Czajkowski (2001–2006) and Elżbieta Wróbel (2006–2016).
