/T/ SOUND IN ALTAIC LANGUAGES

Abstract
Altaic is the general name of language groups, including broadly Kore and Japanese language as narrow Turkish, Mongol, Manchu-Tungusic language. To date relating to the classification of the Altaic languages many studies have been made. They include the classification studies of Radloff, Samoyloviç, Ramstedt, Reşit Rahmeti Arat, Benzing, Menges, Doerfer, Talat Tekin ve Claus Schönig. Various sounds are used while doing these classification as a measure. One of them is the saying initial /t/ sound which is used. The saying initial /t/ is an important sound which is used as a criterion for the classification of Turkish languages. In this study, the saying initial, medial and the ending of the sound /t/ in the Altaic languages have been focused. Examples of some of the views and tidy Altayist expressing their views on this issue has been tried to be given in a collective way. Moreover, the /t/ sound development in old and modern Turkish languages and with the Altaic languages have been evaluated with examples.
