Takotsubo – zespół złamanego serca
Journal Title: Pielęgniarstwo w Stanach Nagłych - Year 2017, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
Takotsubo cardiomyopathy was first described by a Japanese scien tist Hikaru Sato in 1990. It is a form of left ventricular insufficiency, due to severe psychological or physical stress, occurring mainly in postmenopausal women. The early diagnosing of the disease is very important for its course due to a different treatment as compared to acute coronary syndrome. Despite a good response to ACE-I and -blockers therapy, it can result in serious early complications, e.g. pulmonary oedema, cardiogenic shock or fatal arrhythmias. It is very important to consider other possible causes of chest pain when diagnosing acute coronary syndrome, which makes the diagnostic process and treatment significantly easier.
