Strokes are rapidly developing focal disorders of the brain function of the vascular pathophysiology. They are the third most frequent cause of death (following cardiovascular diseases and neoplasms). Strokes involve mainly people aged between 60 and 70. The occurrence of acute cerebrovascular event represents always a direct threat to a patient’s life, regardless of the severity of presented signs and symptoms. Stroke, either ischaemic or haemorrhagic, is a process with dynamic progression and the stabilization of the patient’s condition can be achieved only after 4-5 days since the incident.
