Journal Title: Pan Asian Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology - Year 2019, Vol 2, Issue 1

Abstract

Pertussis remains a major health problem in developed as well as developing countries. Mortality due to pertussis occur almost exclusively in the early infantile life i.e less than 3 months of age. Maternal immunization during the third trimester, immunization of other infant contacts, and reimmunization during subsequent pregnancies are few of the important strategies to prevent the disease in young infants.
