TEACHER – PARENT COOPERATION – TEACHER’S PERSPECTIVE (REPORT FROM THE SURVEY AMONG TEACHERS OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS)

Abstract

The subject of the research I am presenting in this text was cooperation between teachers and the parents of adolescents. The research was conducted among teachers of lower secondary schools (N = 141). The research results focus on the preferred forms of contact between teachers and parents, difficulties and barriers encountered in this area. Teachers surveyed also identified actions taken to encourage parents to cooperate with the school and their expectations towards parents. Only 27% of respondents rated their cooperation with parents as very good. At the same time, they are looking for sources of any shortcomings beyond their own work and competences.<br/><br/>
