Technology and realization in soil type map of Tianzhu County mapping based on SuperMap

Abstract
Geographic Information System (GIS) technology can be applied to the efficient management of large amounts of data. Within kinds of practical GIS software, SuperMap Editor 2003 is a convenient one. This paper describes the data transformation and management of information including soil types geographical distribution, soil properties, area, nutrient content and other information of Tianzhu County, using SuperMap Editor 2003. Furthermore, this paper visualizes the information using thematic maps, briefly states the problems and improvements of the mapping process.
