Abstract
The next part of the jubilee issue commences with the memories of the research workers of the Philosophy and Sociology Department. The author reflects on one of the most fundamental and universal value of human beings - freedom. The first part is theoretical. In the introduction Bohdan Dziemidok presents the main positions which define the notion of freedom and carries out the analysis of philosophical theories on the subject. In the second, practical part, he focuses on the most crucial problems connected with putting freedom into practice, concentrating on the analysis of struggle for autonomy and the rights of the individuals. The last thread is on moral and psychological dilemmas connected with defining the boundaries of freedom in social life, as well as moral and legal liability for made choices.
