Abstract
R. Tulchinskiy. Theories of regional development in the genesis of economic thought. The urgency of the study is due to the fact, that the main provisions evolution of regional development theories makes it possible to formulate conceptual approaches, mechanisms, tools of economic and managerial determinants of a new regionalism formation in Ukraine. The study made it possible to find out that the rational allocation of production in the regional aspect within the theory of spatial regional economics was covered in the works of the classical economic school researchers, in the works of the supporters of Keynesianism, neoclassicists and other scholars of various economic schools. The development of economic thought has led to a branch of the theoretical direction of studying the problems of the regional aspects functioning. At the beginning of the regional processes theoretical understanding, the peculiarities of spatial development were considered throughout the prism of the allocation of industries. Homogeneous areas were in the focus of researchers for a long time that is areas that are limited to a small number of economic characteristics. With some time, in theories of regional development have begun to consider the specific features of the study object, which characterize the spatial aspects of the business entities functioning. Later, the pulse approach was used in theories of regional development. Significant influence on the economic theory development has made by J. Schumpeter's concept of "diffusion of innovations", which substantiated the emergence, features and spread of innovations, as well as uneven development regarding to the unpredictable emergence of innovations.
