The Agricultural Scientific Committee of Ukraine in the times of Ukrainian revolution

Abstract
The prerequisites of formation and the first years of activity during the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917-1921 of the leading coordinating centre for agrarian science and experimental case – The Agricultural Scientific Committee of Ukraine, which is the forerunner of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, are revealed. The main achievements of the institution in various branches of agriculture (soil science, entomology, plant growing, conservancy, agricultural economics, meteorology, animal science, popularization of agricultural knowledge, publishing) during this period are observed. Transformation processes, which took place in the Committee during 1918-1921, were shown, which affected the forms of its activity and organizational structure. The role and place of the institution in the national dimension is indicated. The Agricultural Scientific Committee o Ukraine of the difficult socio-economic and political conditions of becoming has managed to consolidate the scientific potential, revive branch experimental case and bring it to a new level. It should be noted that in many ways the Committee was responsible the essence of academic research and coordinating institution of the modern type. It was becoming before powerful research institutions that operated after him by the spectrum of research because covering almost all areas of agricultural science.
