Abstract
Prophet’ The flow of the history brings along the changes of cultures, societies, people and perspectives as well as the ages. Therefore the semantic world that people create through the influence of the age and culture they are in changes during the historical process and this change reflects in the language, one of the mirrors of the semantic world. The change of the semantic world sometimes occurs in the form of changes in the meanings of the words, and sometimes in the words. Because of this slippery nature of language and meaning, in order to understand a text, a motif, an expression... of a certain period, it is first necessary to decode the language and the semantic world of that period. This article, taking into account these matters, tries to see the cloud and shadow metaphor that takes place in early sources of Islamic literature, through its own semantic world and then offers to look at the related narrations from this perspective
