The basic provisions for formation of information resources and communications in category management

Abstract

The interrelation of business development strategy, information resources and information and communication technologies is considered. The definition of categorical management as a process of joint management of product categories by retail network and producer is given. It is noted that the management of the categories is a strategic cooperation between the retail operator and the supplier, in which the parties manage the category as a strategic unit and reach its growth through a set of actions targeting the buyer. The structure of information resources of network trading enterprises is presented. Three variants of automation by type of communication channels are considered, in particular: on–line system, replication mechanism, communication on the basis of documents.
