Abstract

Pathological processes of this system lead to appearing lyphedema. In spite of the fact that the lyphedema concerns a lot of patients, it is minimized and underestimated by doctors and physiotherapists. This paper presents an overview of the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system, pathophysiology of lymphedema, methods of diagnostics and treatment, especially manual lymphatic drainage.
