The capital market as an alternative source of financing of small and medium-sized enterprises in Bulgaria

Abstract

Supporting access to financе through capita lmarkets for small and medium-size denterprises (SMEs) in Europe and reducing the independence on bank financing is at the heart of the creating the Capital markets union.The opportunity to finance SMEs and start-ups through the capital market under mild conditions of listing is a novelty for the Bulgarian capital market and on of the priorities for its development in the medium term. The potential positive effects of its implamentation are related both to increasing the efficiency of the market and to increasing the competitiveness of SMEs.
