THE CONCEPT OF ECONOMIC SECURITY OF ENTERPRISE IN UKRAINIAN ECONOMIC THOUGHTS

Abstract

This paper addresses the theoretical foundation for an economic concept largely present in some Eastern-European economic literature: the concept of economic security of enterprise (ESE). In the first part, we provide a brief explanation of the specific conditions of economic and social transformation in the post-Soviet economic science that have led to the introduction of the term “economic security of enterprise”. Next, we discuss specific features of the concept based on a content analysis of Ukrainian research theses devoted to ESE. We conclude with a proposition of a definition of ESE, discussions of possible managerial application of this concept and determination of challenges for further research.
