THE CURRENT STATE OF METALLURGICAL ENTERPRISES OF UKRAINE: PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS OF DEVELOPMENT

Abstract
Мetallurgical industry, which includes large private equity were not prepared for all the challenges associated with the global crisis, especially steel overproduction, falling demand for steel, low quality, increased competition and the emergence of new players on the global markets: China, India and South Korea. In addition, years of accumulated systemic problems associated with the need of technical and technological re-equipment of production, improve the quality of steel, the production of new types of steel and rolled products. Metallurgical enterprises in Ukraine compared with developed countries world characterized by significant technological lag and high power consumption. Their equipment worn out and obsolete technology. The article reviewed the problems and trends in the steel industry. Studied industrial and economic potential of the metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine in the economic crisis and conduct anti-terrorist operations in the east. Directions improving the competitiveness of steel companies.
