The Dependence of Surface Diffuseness Parameter on N/Z Ratio of The Fusion of Neutron-Rich Colliding Nuclei
Journal Title: Journal of Nuclear Physics, Material Sciences, Radiation and Applications - Year 2017, Vol 4, Issue 2
Abstract
Surface diffuseness parameter used in Woods-Saxon form of potential have been extracted from a large number of experimentally studied neutron-rich fusion cross sections at near barrier energies. The results of our systematic study reveals that the extracted diffuseness parameter depend linearly on the N/Z ratio of the fusing nuclei. Further, we demonstrated that the extracted values of surface diffuseness parameter lies within the range a = 0.40 to 0.73 fm as compared to commonly accepted value form elastic scattering data i.e. 0.63 fm.

Quantum Effects on the Linear Dispersion Characteristics in Electron-Positron Plasma
In electron-positron plasmas some of the plasma modes are decoupled due to the equal charge to mass ratio of both species. The dispersion properties of the propagation of linear waves in degenerate electron–positron magn...
Characterization of LR-115 Type 2 Detectors for Monitoring Indoor Radon 222: Determination of the Calibration Factor
The city of Lima, capital of Peru, has about 11 million inhabitants. Lima has no records about the indoor Radon 222 concentration levels in dwellings. Hereby, we are planning to register the indoor radon concentrations i...
Radiolysis of Serine in High Radiation Field
The formation of amino acids under simulated condition suggests that this type of compounds were readily formed on the primitive Earth. Nevertheless, there is no conclusive explanation to the origin of their specific chi...
Development of Silicon Sensor Characterization System for Future High Energy Physics Experiments
The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) is one of the general purpose experiments at the Large hadron Collider (LhC), CeRN and has its tracker built of all silicon strip and pixel sensors. Si sensors are expected to play extreme...
Critical Exponents of Quantum Phase Transition Between U(5) and O(6) Limits of Interacting Boson Model
In this paper, Landau theory for phase transitions is shown to be a useful approach for quantal system such as atomic nucleus. A detailed analysis of critical exponents of ground state quantum phase transition between U(...
