Abstract
The derivational potential for the dominant “have” is analyzed using the Explanatory Dictionary of the Living Great Russian Language by V.I. Dahl as the source material. Involving folk and colloquial lexical units, the analysis reveals main lexical-semantic groups that include numerous derivatives of the Common Slavonic root *em.
