Abstract
The peculiarities of the formation of digital information space and its impact on the 21st century society have been analyzed. The peculiarities of the development of Internet-based network technologies and virtual communities created by them are considered. The author attempts to identify possible risks of the evolution of Internet products in relation to the freedom of the individual.
