The Diagnosis of the Cutting Tool Edge Break and the Prognosis of Cutting

Journal Title: RECENT - Year 2013, Vol 14, Issue 38

Abstract

The purpose of the paper is to present a modality of prognosis of the cutting process and methods of diagnosis of the break of the cutting tool edge. The prognosis of the cutting process was done using the cutting thermocurrent, and the diagnosis of the catastrophic wear was done using both the measuring of the cutting thermocurrent and the measuring of the vibrations. In the case of the diagnosis of the catastrophic wear it was done the comparison between the two methods.
