The effect of addition of different quantity of enzyme preparation on nutritive value of mixtures for broiler chickens

Journal Title: Rośliny Oleiste - Oilseed Crops - Year 2010, Vol 31, Issue 1

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of increasing quantities of enzyme preparation on nutritive value of diets for broiler chickens. The growth experiment was carried out on 75 broiler chickens divided into 3 groups, each of 25 birds (five replications in five birds). The chickens were fed wheat-soybean starter diets containing 15% of rape cake from seeds of Lirajet cv. and grower — 20% of rape cake. Diets were supplemented with different quantity of enzyme preparation containing xylanase: 0,2 g·kg-1 group I (control); 0,3 g·kg-1 — group II and 0,4 g·kg-1 group III. At the 42nd day of life six chickens from each group (3♀ and 3♂) were scarified and slaughter analysis was carried out.In the digestibility experiment conducted on 48 birds divided into 3 groups of 16 birds (4 × 4 birds) the digestibility coefficients of mixtures described earlier were stated. The increasing quantity of enzymatic preparation had profitable but insignificant influence on chickens’ body weight. In the period from the 1st to 21st day of life the feed utilization was the most profitable when 0.4 g preparation was added and in the period from the 22nd to 42nd day, as well as for whole rearing when 0.3 g preparation was added. With the increased quantity of preparation the content of liver and stomach in body weight was reduced. The content of abdominal fat in body weight decreased and breast muscle and total muscles increased. The highest dose of enzymatic preparation decreased the content of crude fat in the breast muscle. The highest content of crude protein and the lowest content of crude fat were stated in leg muscles when 0.3 g enzymatic preparation was added. The enzymatic preparation introduced at quantity of 0.4 g to the starter diet significantly increased digestibility of crude fat. Such effect did not occur in the case of grower diet.
