The effect of cognitive behavioral treatment in group approach and progressive muscular relaxation approach on improvement sexual performance of who infected to premature ejaculation

Abstract

The present research has been done to survey the effect of cognitive behavioral treatment in group approach and progressive muscular relaxation approach on improvement sexual performance of who infected to premature ejaculation in Tehran. This study is a quasi – experiment and combined with pre -test & post-test and group control. The data base, consist of people who participated in nerve and psyche clinics and psychology and consultation in Tehran 2012, and according to interview and psychiatry description found as premature ejaculation . The sampling was cluster in which the capital city divided in to five parts, west, east, north, south, and center and in each part among clinics one clinic and from each clinic nine person have been chosen accidentally. Totally 45 individuals from experimental group (15 individuals) and control group (15 individuals) substitute accidentally. The means of this study consist of 21 BAKE anxiety questions and the record sheet of ejaculation per second. Experimental groups during 10 sessions, 45 minutes per session, learned cognitive behavioral treatment in group approach and progressive muscular relaxation and control group received no teaching. After teaching, anxiety and sexual performance of both groups measured again. Findings: the result of covariance analysis in compound analysis shows that the cognitive behavioral intervention and relaxation has meaningful effect on sexual performance (05/0>p). Conclusion: the total conclusion shows that two cognitive behavioral treatment and progressive muscular relaxation lead to increase the sexual performance of participant.
