THE EFFECT OF CONSTRAINT CONDITIONS ON THE CONTACT PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION OF MULTI-DISC FRICTION CLUTCHES
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2015, Vol 264, Issue 6
Abstract
High thermal stresses generated between the contact surfaces in a clutch system, e.g., multi-disc friction clutch (back plate, clutch discs, separators, and piston), due to the friction heat generated during the slipping period are considered to be one of the main reasons for friction clutch failure. The finite element method has been used to study the contact pressure distribution of a multi-disc clutch (working in dry conditions) when all parts are closing together and the clutch system starts to engage. The augmented Lagrange algorithm is used to obtain the contact pressure distribution of the friction surfaces under different restriction conditions. Analysis has been completed using the developed axisymmetric model that is used to simulate the multi-disc clutch system.

THE INFLUENCE OF PROLONGED KNEADING IN THE PRESENCE OF WATER ON THE TRIBOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF GREASES CONTAINING ORGANIC AND MINERAL ADDITIVES
This paper presents the tribological characteristics of synthetic greases containing mineral and organic additives after prolonged kneading in the presence of water. The investigated greases were composed on a base of pa...
THE INFLUENCE OF A CIRCUMFERENTIAL GROOVE ON OIL FLOW IN JOURNAL BEARING
Computer simulation of the oil flow in a circumferential grooved journal bearing is described in the paper. A circumferentially grooved journal bearing as a limiting state of helical grooved journal bearing was analysed....
DISCUSSION ABOUT FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEMS OF TRIBOLOGY. PART 12 – SYSTEMATIC OF RESEARCH ACTIVITY IN TRIBOLOGY – FROM STRATEGY TO TACTIC TRIBOLOGY RESEARCH
This paper presents an attempt at systematising the issues of tribology research according to the criterion of general cognitive tasks. The existing structure covering strategy, operational art and tactics were used for...
METHODOLOGY OF MATERIALS AND HIP ENDOPROSTHESIS COMPONENTS INVESTIGATIONS IN INOP
This study contains the methodology of materials and hip endoprosthesis component investigations. Studies are realised in two stages. The first stage concerns the evaluation of the behaviour of material connections due t...
