Journal Title: Annals of WULS, Forestry and Wood Technology; Zeszyty naukowe SGGW - Year 2016, Vol 96, Issue 1
Abstract
The effect of pitch of thread on the force retaining screws in particleboard. The paper presents testing results of the force retaining screws in particleboards. A research hypothesis was proposed that the pitch of thread within the range of 2.5, through 3 to 3.5 mm affects the value of the screw retaining force. Screws with three different pitches of thread were tested when mounted in the wide and narrow plane of the panel. Samples were made according to the guidelines of the ISO Standard 27528:2009. Tests were conducted using a universal strength testing machine. The research hypothesis was not confirmed in these tests. Keywords:
