Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of positive psychological components on self-worth and metacognition beliefs of children of veterans and was a quasi-experimental study. The research sample in this study included 40 children of veterans in Kermanshah city in the year of 2019 that were selected by seventeen sampling method with random replacement and placed in two experimental and control groups. Research data were collected through Scherer and Maddox (GSE) Psychological Self-Worth Questionnaire (1982) and the Wells Metacognitive Beliefs Questionnaire (MCQ-30). Findings were analyzed using SPSS-20 statistical software and analysis of covariance. The results showed that between the mean scores of self-worth post-test (P˂0.05) and metacognition (P˂0.01) After eliminating the effect of pre-test, there is a significant difference in experimental groups and training of positive psychological components leads to improving self-worth and reducing negative metacognitive beliefs in experimental group members in the post-test phase. Comparison with the controlled group. Based on the results, it can be said that education related to positive psychological components is a new educational model that can have positive effects on children of veteran's psychological status.
