Journal Title: The Journal of International Social Research - Year 2017, Vol 10, Issue 53

Abstract

It is a fact that worldwide private sector investments are more common than the public sector. The role of private sector investments in creating employment is undoubtedly huge. Private sector investments in Turkey have also increased in recent years and are encouraged by the state. This is also the case for Çankırı. According to the regions in Turkey, economic imbalances are an important question. Investment deficiencies are the most important reasons for this. Turkey Statistical Institute (TSI) According to 2016 data, the highest employment rate in Turkey was realized in TR 82 (Kastamonu, Çankırı, Sinop) region with 54%. Investing in a city means that employment in that region will increase. The aim of this study in this context is to demonstrate the course of employment in Çankırı between 2007 and 2016 and try to determine the possible impact of Turkey's largest production capacity tire factory in Çankırı employment, which was established with Turkish-Japanese partnership in 2015. In the study, İŞKUR was injured from the data that it created according to occupational distributions and age groups. As a method, quantitative data analysis method was used and evaluated with statistical data. In the Çankırı province, when the employment of the employment is examined between 2007-2016; It is determined that there is a rapid increase in employment from 2010 to 2012 and a jump in the direction of increase in 2014. An increase of 2402 persons was observed in the number of persons employed in the period from 2014 until the end of 2016. In addition, the distribution of employment by occupational groups has been found to be high in all years, even among those who do not require qualifications in these years. Beside, according to age groups, there is a rapid increase in employment in 2016, especially in the 20-40 age group. The findings are evaluated, it is seen that the main factor in the increase in employment in Çankırı is the Tire Factory which was in operation in 2015 in the region. This is because no significant change has been observed between the dates indicated in the number of industrial facilities operating in the province. The fact that similar investments will be made in different regions will increase employment at regional and national scale.
