The Era of Social Media in the Midst of Divergence

Abstract

Social Media is growing day by day, most of the Newspapers and News Channel started their online portals and apps for their Target Audience. Many readers are using ‘smartphones’ to scroll what is going on in day to day life? It has not only changed the reader’s mindset as well as it has changed the industry’s working style. Demand of online contents has been grown up rapidly year by year. As per the recent reports, there are 155 Million active users of Facebook, and most popular brand on Facebook is Aaj Tak (a media channel) with 14.4 global fans. Most of the active users are in between 18-24 years of age. Twitter has 23.2 Million active users in India. These stats are witness of involvement of Social Media over the traditional media. This is just the beginning, in coming years it may completely extinct traditional Media.
