THE ESSENCE AND STRUCTURE OF KEY COMPETENCIES OF FUTURE SKILLED SEWING WORKERS

Abstract
The article presents key competencies as a complex of important qualities of a modern specialist, which are required for successful professional performance, self-realization and full-fledged life of an individual. The relevance of the topic is caused by the rapid growth of requirements for a skilled worker, the interest of modern entrepreneurs in the specialists, who are able to work with information, be creative and think critically, discover optimal solutions, express and defend their own opinion, cooperate and collaborate. Such concepts as “competency” and “key competencies” are specified. The views on key competencies are presented in the context of European and Ukrainian legislation. The article highlights the need to develop those competencies in future skilled workers, which contribute to developing personal potential, promote self-realization, expand employment opportunities and ensure success in a rapidly changing society. Key competencies of future sewing workers are presented as a system of competencies, which, when combined with professional knowledge, skills and abilities, will allow such workers to achieve positive results in personal and professional life and will ensure an effective interpersonal interaction in the production environment. It is proved that the key and professional competencies of sewing workers are interrelated and should be formed and developed simultaneously. The article justifies the need to develop these qualities in the process of educating future tailors and cutters, whose professional activity is connected with communication with the customer, the choice of a model and material, fittings, detection and elimination of defects, ability to work on several orders simultaneously.
