THE EVALUATION OF BURNOUT SYNDROME AND JOB SATISFACTION IN TOURISM AND FOOD AND BEVERAGES DEPARTMENTS

Abstract

ABSTRACT Nowadays, the factors that affect the health of employees in different occupational groups are negative job satisfaction and burnout which threaten the employees’ physical and mental health. Since in tourism sector, the hospitality enterprises are labor intensive and people are always in contact with each other, the high level of job satisfaction of the employees affect the quality of the service, positively. Burnout syndrome is a frequent problem in occupational groups who work face to face with individuals. It affects the performance of employees and the quality of service, negatively. In this study; the concept of burnout and job satisfaction was defined, in general; the studies on the burnout and job satisfaction in tourism sector; and the studies on the evaluation of the burnout occurrence and job satisfaction in food and beverage departments employees of the tourism enterprises were reviewed.
