THE EVALUATION OF MORPHOMETRIC CHARACTERISTIC OF THE TURKEY’S MAJOR DELTAS WITH GIS AND RS

Abstract
The aim of thisstudy is to determine the surface area and various morphometric features of Turkey's three largest deltaplain (Çukurova, Yeşilırmakand Kizilırmak deltas) using GIS (Geography Information System) and RM (Remote sensing technology) method. For this purpose, the delta plains primarily limited by geology and topography maps. And then various morphometric calculations were made using different computer programs. The measurements are made with graph paper to make the consistency ofthe results. And it was observed that the results were consistent.
